Pearl studied fashion design at Kent State University, and focused her education on textile reuse and knitwear.
She believes that the easiest way to combat the fabric waste problem in the fashion industry is to use what already exists to create more circular design.
Pearl created The Fabric Pantry, which is dedicated to providing free second hand fabric to students to cut the cost of designing, and incorporate sustainable conversation early. Sourced from around the Kent area, The Fabric Pantry is the only fabric resource on campus, and serves over 150 students each year through materials, showcases, and trips.

She wants to continue to learn more about knitwear, and how to incorporate the reuse of existing textiles and fibers to create interesting, less impactful clothes.
